Greatest survival horror game ever!
It disgusts me to think about all the bad reviews that this game got. Gamespot-4.5, ign-6.3, machinama-6 and so on. Just look at the reviews it's getting on amazon.com and all the people talking about how good it is on miiverse. If you people don't realize yet that ign and all these big game review companies are trying to finish off nintendo, then you won't believe anything. I'm not a nintendo fanboy, but I was a huge playstation fanboy who used to get on youtube and mess with nintendo fans. I have to say that the wiiu is not only by far the best console to ever be released, but zombiu is the greatest game I've ever played aside from perfect dark, and goldeneye n64 (That's right, even though I used to like playstation better, I still realized that those are the two best games ever made). This game completely puts resident evil to shame and makes capcom look like a second rate company. Not only have the resident evil games not reached this level of creativeness, but they also haven't reached this level of horror (This game is even scarier than silent hill and that game was very creepy!). The game is slow and methodic, but that is what it would be like in a real zombie apocalypse. Like it or not, you'll have to think when you're outnumbered by a bunch of flesh eating zombies and you only possess a handful of ammunition. That's where the melee comes in and that's also what everyone said made this game boring. That couldn't be further from the truth for me, because that's what differentiates this game from an action game. How would it be hard or even scary if you had a ton of bullets to wipeout all the zombies in front of you. If that was the case then you wouldn't have to worry about conserving ammo, looting for ammo and planning your attacks so that you don't get overrun whenever there are multiple zombies coming to eat your face. You see, everything in this game has a purpose for why it is the way it is. Oh, another complaint is that there is no story. I say good, if you mean there is not much voice acting and movie clips that interrupt gameplay then that's the best news I've ever heard. Why are we so concerned with voice acting, scripts, and overall movie related content in a freaking game anyway? Lastly, I would just like to say that this game is the closest you'll ever get to being in a george romero film as the lead actor. It really does exude the same eerie feeling as an independent scary film that is engaging in every way and I think it will keep me on edge until the end of the game. I've only played 6 hours, but I am still craving more and I've only used like 80 bullets so far. Please ubisoft, don't pay attention to the reviews and make zombiu 2 because we need more hardcore mature games and I can't think of a better one than this. To all playstation and xbox fans who bought more ps and xbox's over the holidays than wiiu consoles, you wasted your money, because the best game ever made is right here on the wiiu, not those other two consoles. Wake up and stop being a hater of nintendo and realize like I did that without nintendo there will not be any innovation and we will be stuck with the same drawn out concepts forever! Always remember, gameplay over graphics! Update: Now that I've finished the game, I would change my 5/5 to a 4. There were a few things that keeps it from being perfect and they are: Technical issues, like when you hit a zombie with the cricket bat and it goes flying through the air 60 feet. Also, when you hit a zombie on a ledge it will actually walk on air like wiley coyote! The last thing that brings down the score is the electric zombies and poltergeist zombies. These things are ridiculous and have no place in a serious zombie game like this. I mean seriously, why would you try your best to create an intense realistic zombie adventure, but then turn around and create one of the most outlandish enemies in the game. The electric zombie is like a super hero with electricity shooting out of its hands and the poltergeist zombie is like a freaking ghost that teleports. How stupid can you get? Whoever thought that was a good idea should be fired from ubisoft. Lastly, I hope that ubi makes zombiu 2, but if they include more of this crap I will not buy it, because it completely took me out of the immersion of the game and just made me laugh instead at how dumb it all was. Needless to say, I'm very disappointed in the way it all turned out. It was just so promising until then and they basically ruined it by implementing those zombies! I still like it better than any other game I've played in the last 10 years so I can't complain too much I guess. I'm just mad because this game was almost perfect in every way!

4.8 out of 5....Try it yourself, don't just listen to critics (good or bad).
Ok, so this review is long over due. I bought this game back in late November 2013. And to be honest....When I first bought it, I had my doubts. I usually check out others views of things. But also want to see for myself if I'll like things. With this game I kinda bought into others (negative) views more than usual. Anyways...I did buy it before trying it out. Not knowing just how great it actually is (to me)! This is a challenging game! You must strategize, manage items carefully, watch your surroundings always. IF YOU GET BIT ONCE YOU ARE DEAD!!! Good news is though that you get to continue as a different generated player. You continue the story where you were (mission-wise). All your inventory in your safe house will still be there. However, if you had items on you when bit, you lose them (kinda). You are able to actually run around and find the old (now zombie) you. If you find the old you, you can kill that zombie & loot it for all your lost items in the backpack! Also you will often run into other people's old characters that are now zombies. Those will have the gamer's gamer tag, score with that character, and the items they lost. It's pretty sweet! And yes, someone else playing can find and kill the old you and loot it before you. So you might wanna find that zombie quickly! Throughout the game you will be able to use a few guns. But, ammo is scarce. Especially for the guns later aquired in the game! You also get a crossbow. You have a melee weapon (cricket bat) which will not ware down. A flashlight which battery drains. But can be charged any time. You have the option of spray painting hidden messages for other players. And either give a heads up...or trick them! They can see your spray paint messages with the scanner on the Wii U Gamepad. You will use the gamepad for scanning for weapon upgrades, clues, codes for doors, notes, zombies locations,ect...And to even pick locks! This is a cool feature in the game play! The sound is really good. There were only a few voice actors. So the characters you are may be a bit repetetive though. But aside from that, the zombies sounds, sfx, birds, thunder and lightning w/ rain,ect..all sound good! The music is great too!!! The controls/gameplay is fine in my opinion. Pretty simple to pick up and remember. I think the graphics work. They are about (or slightly better) than say Left 4 Dead graphics. But that's not cause the Wii U's capabilities. It could've hosted a more power graphic ZombiU. However, Ubisoft said they didn't focus on the graphics. But focused on the gameplay,ect..instead. If you are not all about graphics...You'll likely be able to enjoy the visuals along with everything else! For me the story is good too! It starts off slow (in my opion), story-wise. But then get's better. This game is like a mix of Resident Evil 2,Left 4 Dead, and maybe House Of The Dead. Easily among the best zombie/survvival horror games in years! Like from Resident Evil 2's release to now. It doesn't have any DLC,no great multiplayer (but there is one of sorts),ect...But this game doesn't need that to be a classic! This game is gritty, simple yet challenging!! I have given it a 4.8 out of 5. And that is due to how great and solid this game is. Even the camera angles are really great overall!!! This could use better multiplayer, better graphics, but surely does not need it to be a stand out game! It holds up to games on other systems too! What this game really lacks is just the right advertising/promoting. And it lacks to be given a chance by many people! I very highly recommend trying this game out for yourself. Also, there is a cool extra feature on this game. Zombi me is a feature that you use your gamepad and have it detect your face. Then it can turn you into a zombie. Once it does this, you can snap a pic of it and upload it. And it allows you to choose between a few different zombie layouts!

Fantastic game, don't miss it!
First of all, ignore the negative reviews. If you are into survival horror at all, you need to get this game. Currently, the price is 11.99 Prime which makes this an absolute STEAL. It is seriously a no brainer at that price. The game is basically a mission crawl through zombie infested London while you are being directred by a mysterious person who calls himself "The Prepper". He helps you with some good information about hacking cameras, stocking up your safe house, etc. (Btw, STOCK UP YOUR SAFE HOUSE!) As you progress you get better and better weapons and equipment. Make no mistake though, this is NOT a run and gun. This is true survival horror where more often than not, avoiding conflict is the best option (but blowing up a pack of zombies with a grenade sure is fun!) One thing I really like is the endless lives system, if you die, you are "reborn" as another survivor back at your safe house and you can then go back to your death location and grab your gear. This tended to frustrate me until I realized that it never really took very long to get back to where I was. I also love the way the Wiiu gamepad is integrated into this game. It makes managing your inventory very easy, and is also your scanner for loot, sniper scope, and more. Very cool! Bottom line, for $12 you cannot afford to pass this up if you are into survival horror at all. Get it!

A New Level of Immersion
ZombiU is fantastic, definitely the most innovative & excellent launch title for the Wii U. The gamepad is used for many purposes, all of which completely immerse you into the game. You have the map, inventory, & useful mission info right at your finger tips on the gamepad. You lift the gamepad up to scan different rooms and areas for weapons, items, and secrets (something Metroid U will definitely have to utilize); and also for sniping and precision shooting with the crossbow (awesome!). You'll be using it to pick locks, use keypads, open barricades, and control gun turrets. The gamepad just works brilliantly, & you won't be getting all these gameplay possibilities on any other system. ZombiU has an emphasis on survival and strategy, but you will still take out tons of zombies, with lots of action throughout the game. The atmosphere truly thrills you and keeps you on the edge of your seat, one bite from a zombie and you're done, so the tension is heightened. And you won't be killing zombies with one hit, they usually take several. There are various types of zombies, and different strategies for killing them (sometimes you'll HAVE to retreat, or else you'll die). The graphics, sound effects, dialogue, art direction, and level design are all very good. The story is fairly light, but will keep you interested, & the world itself will suck you in. I'd definitely recommend playing it in a dark room by yourself if possible. ZombiU immerses you into it's own post-apocalyptic world & successfully evolves the survival horror genre for this new-generation.

Definitely won't die of boredom!
One of the best games on Nintendo WiiU. Sadly, a game that deserves a strong franchise or at least a sequel but will never get one because UBISOFT are greedy and the game did not make as much money as the company intended. Is ZombiU another zombie game? Yes. Is that a bad thing? Absolutely, not! ZombiU has a few features that sets it apart from others in the genre. Most notably, is the innovative way the game uses the WiiU controller like a backpack, map scanner, etc. Doing this can put your character in a life or death predicament because if you take your eyes off the TV screen for too long managing your "backpack" you may be in trouble. So, do it in a safe place or be quick if not. Another feature that drew me in was that if your character dies you lose your gear unless you hunt down your previous dead self, but do it fast because if you die again all that gear is lost forever. You only get one shot to retrieve it. Best way to avoid this, is to make appropriate use of your storage crate in your safe house and manage your gear smart. Is ZombiU a perfect game? No, it's not without it's flaws but what game is really perfect? NONE. ZombiU has a few minor glitches from time to time but nothing that plagues the game and most go unnoticed when wrapped up in the game. One noticeable glitch that was beneficial to me is that there was one zombie that no matter how many times I killed him and took his gear (a lot) he kept coming back to life with full gear. So, I had so many first aid kits I didn't know what to do with, lol. Anyway, ZombiU is awesome and it's a shame there won't be a follow up game in the near future or probably never at this rate.

Don't waste your time.
I received Zombiu quickly and put it into the Wii. I played the one life survival mode, and it was pretty fun, but I died quickly. I decided to then play the normal mode and that's when all the trouble started. First the game would crash randomly leaving my Wii U completely useless, and I would have to unplug the system in order to get it to reset. Then on the second mission, it told me I hadn't completed a certain objective (entering an area) when I had long ago. The game got stuck there, and I finally said forget it. I'm returning this game to Amazon, if they can't fix basic gameplay bugs before release, then the rest of the game doesn't matter. If you don't have these problems (I am not the first to witness them) the game is decent. It circles around sneaking and clever ways to slip by instead of out and out combat like games like Left 4 Dead. The sound is the most amazing part of it, and they did a good job, but the graphics are just so-so. If there wasn't these kinds of defects, I would have given the game a 4 star rating. I think wait til a better patch comes out, or go play some of the thousand other good quality zombie games.

I had fun playing this game even though I had the entire story revealed to me beforehand. The gameplay outshines the story in this game it is fun, responsive and actually utilizes the gamepad something that is way too uncommon for the WII U. Be aware that the game while meant to be scary is more jumpscare then creepy or terrifying. The game multiplayer is not cooperative but can still be fun. Overall challenge is dependent on the settings you chose. I'm glad I could finally play the full game but after completing it I can wholeheartedly say rent this game rather than own. Loading times are fairly long with frankly unattractive images. I won't spoil the ending but it was lackluster and personally haven't touched the game in a while after beating. Replayability is dependent on whether you are willing to sit through another playthrough on a different difficulty and for most people

If you like Zombies and survival horror this is the game to try. You start out taking control of a random survivor and try to gather supplies and gear for your shelter. The controls is what makes this game difficult as you have to use both the TV and the WiiU touch screen at the same time. Definitely recommend.

Muy buen juego
Creo que también éste es otro juego obligatorio para Wii U. Con audifonos la experiencia es mejor. Los gráficos no son de lo mejor, pero el juego no te hace extrañarlos.
